Badgers in Trouble

A young European badger, a.k.a. meles meles, in his sett (burrow)

I recently did this drawing for some friends in the U.K. who have been attempting (without much success) to legally change their government's recent decision to endorse the killing of several thousand native badgers. Despite a lot of science showing such widespread culls aren't the most effective measure against the transmission of bovine TB -- the reason for the cull -- this desperate preventative action is currently being carried out across the British countryside every night, much to the dismay of wildlife biologists and the general public.

I can only hope that a workable solution can be found that will help prevent such drastic eliminations in the future.
