Went to the Gardens at Harmony the other day for a little botanical sketching session. I used Derwent's "Inktense" water-soluble colored pencils over sepia pen in addition to my usual watercolor pencils; this was my first time using Inktense, and I was quite happy with the vibrancy of the pigments when I added water. An added bonus is that I can now glaze or layer light colors over dark ones (in this case yellow over indigo/brown) instead of the usual dark-over-light technique that is associated most watercolor media. Very unorthodox, but very fun, nonetheless....
