Swarm

The current illustration I'm working on will have lots of bees, bumblebees in particular.  Unlike their honeybee cousins, bumbles don't swarm as a rule.  In fact, they're rather shy, solitary characters.  Perhaps this is why a scene filled with lots and lots of them will be fun to create.

After doing several quick sketches with my old crow quill pen, I was reminded once again what happens if I work too vigorously in ink...and had to make a hasty retreat to the laundry room to grab the stain remover.

Nice sketches: spontaneously and natural.
