Cultivate

 "Big Red"
(After Diane Perry)
10 x 14 inches
Watercolor on 140lb cold press paper

This week's theme was "cultivate" and so I thought it was a rather happy coincidence that I painted this barn today under the gentle tutelage of local watercolorist Diane Perry. All sorts of things get cultivated on a farm, after all. (I'd planned to do some scenes from my garden earlier in the week, but my schedule became so busy that I never got the chance.)

beautiful! I loved how you lay the shadow, that's one of my struggles in watercolors, painting shadows.

Wish I could walk up that road to that farm with the long and low stretching evening sun.
A nice tranquil painting.

This is really nice. I like how you played with lights and shadows, and the peaceful mood of the picture.
Great work!
